NC Public Beach Access

Southeastern North Carolina is home to some of the most beautiful beaches on the East Coast and there are plenty of public beach accesses available for visitors and locals alike. Wrightsville Beach is one of the most popular coastal destinations in the area and offers several public beach access points. The most popular is the Johnnie Mercer’s Pier access where you will find parking, restrooms, showers, and changing areas. Other public beach accesses in Wrightsville Beach include the Oceanic Street Access, the South Lumina Avenue Access, and the North Lumina Avenue Access. Carolina Beach is another favorite among beachgoers, and there are several public beach accesses available here as well. The Carolina Beach Boardwalk Access provides parking, restrooms, and showers, and there are also accesses available at Pelican Lane, Atlanta Avenue, and Ocean Boulevard. Kure Beach is a quieter option and offers a more laid-back atmosphere. The Kure Beach Access at the Ocean Front Park and Pavilion provides both parking and restrooms. Other public beach accesses in Kure Beach include the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area Access and the L Avenue Beach Access. No matter which beach you choose to visit, be sure to follow all posted rules and regulations, swim near a lifeguard when possible, and pack out all trash to help keep our beaches clean and beautiful.
